WHAT IF 30 TEAMS DO NOT SIGN UP ON EACH CIRCUIT?
The minimum number of boats required to run the Pro Tour is 25 on each Circuit. If we do not reach the minimum of 25 boats, teams will be refunded their entry fee. (Processing fees are non refundable if paying with Credit Card)
HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR THE PROFESSIONAL TOUR?
You may APPLY to fish the Mercury Professional Kingfish Tour HERE if you think your team is up to the challenge. The Mercury Professional Tour runs on an annual basis. Please visit the Professional Tour page to view details on deadlines, etc.
DOES EVERY CREW MEMBER HAVE TO BE AN SKA MEMBER?
Yes, to be part of the Professional Tour every member of the crew (apart from the Captain) must be an active SKA Competition or Competition Family Member at the start of the Mercury Professional Tour Season. The Captain of the boat must be an active SKA Professional Member.
I HAVE A SMALL BOAT; DOES THE PROFESSIONAL TOUR HAVE A SMALL BOAT CLASS?
There are no designated Classes in the Mercury Pro Tour.
DOES MY TEAM HAVE TO FISH ALL 4 PROFESSIONAL EVENTS ON MY (NORTH/SOUTH) CIRCUIT?
No you do not have to fish all four events, but teams that do will be able to drop their lowest point total. After a Circuit is completed, the team with the highest 3 event point total on the North and South Circuit will win $5,000.
I WANT TO APPLY FOR 2016 PROFESSIONAL TOUR, HOW CAN I DO THAT?
Applications are due by March 4-no exceptions.
HOW DOES THE PAYMENT PLAN WORK FOR THE PRO TOUR?
The payment plan will consist of three (3) payments of $2,000 (there is a non-refundable 2% processing fee if using a Credit card) First payment can be charged with application, second payment due April 1, final payment due May 1.
WHAT IF MY KIDS WANT TO FISH THE LOCAL SKA EVENT, BUT I DO NOT HAVE ROOM TO LIST THEM ON MY PRO CREW MEMBER ROSTER?
Any additional crew members that would like to fish the local event (if Pro Event is piggybacked) must be approved by the SKA. Captains should submit the anglers names and SKA numbers at least 7 days before the event and wait to recieve approval to [email protected] or call the office 800-852-6262.
IF I FISH THE PRO TOUR AM I AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFIED FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP?
Yes. All Pro Teams are automatically pulled from 'Divisional' qualification for the National Championship. Your team is also invited to the Pro Championship which will be fished on Tuesday and Wednesday before the National Championship(fished Friday-Saturday) Location annoucnement comming soon!
